Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, wants Charlie Sheen to make an appearance in the second season of the AMC zombie series. “Charlie, call us, we will totally make this happen. We’ll do whatever you want,” Kirkman told The Hollywood Reporter. Kirkman, with tongue planted firmly in cheek, even suggested that Sheen could take over the key role of Sheriff Rick Grimes saying, “We’ll recast you as Rick. Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick) will find something else to do.”
In a slightly more serious tone Kirkman, who spoke about the show at Paleyfest in Los Angeles, indicated that the action in Season 2 would pick up right after the explosion of the CDC in Atlanta that provided the climax for Season 1. Having lost out in the Rick-Lori-Shane love triangle, Shane will get a new love interest in Season 2. As in the graphic novel series major characters in the TV show will be killed off and replaced by new ones, though Rick Grimes is safe, at least for Season 2—and just like the comics, the TV series will never reveal the cause of the zombie outbreak.
