New editions of three of Doctor Who episode novelizations originally published by Target Books are returning to print this month thanks to Diamond Book Distributors.  Doctor Who and the Daleks by David Whitaker, Doctor Who and the Cybermen by Gerry Davis (who also wrote the actual Doctor Who episode), and Doctor Who and the Abominable Snowman by Terrance Dicks (who wrote numerous Doctor Who episodes) will all sport their original covers featuring paintings by famed fantasy artist Chris Achilleos.

The major change in the new editions of the Doctor Who novelizations, which will have a cover price of $6.99, is the addition of introductions by contemporary fantasy and science fiction writers, Neal Gaiman (Doctor Who and the Daleks), Stephen Baxter (Doctor Who and the Abominable Snowman), and Gareth Roberts (Doctor Who and the Cyberman).

Otherwise these volumes are identical to the originals, which have become collectors’ items.  These Target editions are a true blast from the past and should evoke plenty of memories for anyone who worked in the direct market in the 1980s before the proliferation of cable outlets and the home entertainment revolution provided everyday access to the classic episodes of this groundbreaking science fiction TV series.
