The first season of cult favorite TV series Xena: Warrior Princess will debut on April 29.  The box set includes all 24 first season episodes plus a bonus CD-Rom with a Xena screensaver, a still gallery, the 'Xena Chronicles,' Xena trivia and talent bios.  Anchor Bay is listing the box set at a suggested retail price of $89.95.

 

Anchor Bay is making fans who purchase the set eligible for a $100,000 'Quest For the Golden Sword' Sweepstakes.  The grand prize is a handcrafted sword forged in Spain by master sword smith Marto out of ten pounds of solid gold.  Given the fact that gold isn't very hard, the weapon won't be much use in a swordfight, but it will be the most impressive Xena collectible ever created.
