Although the official release date is not yet set in stone, Funimation plans to release a DVD of Blue Gender in late June.  The DVD will be uncut and will include the original Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles.  At this point the number of episodes on the DVD and srp of the DVD are yet to be determined.  Blue Gender is a cutting edge, post-apocalyptic science fiction series that would require a lot of cutting to allow it to conform to Cartoon Network guidelines for violence and sex (see 'Funimation Seeks Follow-up to DBZ').  So while Funimation waits for the right broadcast or cable venue for Blue Gender (a 'Toonami' Network might very well fill the bill, see 'AOL/TW Combine...'), they are releasing some of the thirty original Japanese episodes in order to build a fan base for the property.

Funimation's other major new property, Yu Yu Hakusho, is a different story.  This series will soon find a niche in the U.S. television animation market, and will be modified to conform to American standards.  Look for an announcement about this series in the near future.  Funimation plans on releasing edited VHS tapes of Yu Yu in the fall, by which time with any luck the series should be airing.  There is no official word yet, but it is highly likely that the DVD release will include the uncut version along with a Japanese soundtrack.
