Last September ICv2 reported that New Line Cinema had acquired the rights to A History of Violence, a graphic novel by John Wagner and Vince Locke that was published in 1998 by Paradox Press (which also published Road To Perdition, see 'New Line Acquires DC's A History of Violence'). According to today's Hollywood Reporter, Josh Olson (Three Gun Blues, On The Border) will write the screenplay for this saga of a 'hero,' whose violent past comes back to haunt him. If Olson comes up with a suitable screenplay, the next step would be finding a director for the project. It makes sense for pop culture retailers, especially those who sell comics, to keep on top of this project since it is based on an excellent graphic novel that will have considerable sales potential when and if the film gets made.
