New York Comic Con News: At The Walking Dead panel at the NYCC showrunner Scott Gimple introduced some new actors who will be joining the cast of The Walking Dead in the new season that debuts tonight. A trio of survivors from a much larger band that was trying to fight its way from Texas to Washington, DC are led by Sergeant Abraham Ford, who debuted in The Walking Dead comics in issue #53, and is played in the TV series by actor Michael Cudlitz (Southland).
Cudlitz tweeted a photo of himself as Sergeant Ford in full blown action. Ford is a key character in the comics. He eventually becomes Rick Grimes most trusted lieutenant. When he joins the band he is accompanied by a former high school science teacher, Dr. Eugene Porter (played by actor/comedian Josh McDermitt) and Rosita Espinosa (Twilight actress Christian Serratos).
