Theater actor Ray Fisher has been hired to play Vic Stone aka Cyborg in Zack Snyder’s Batman/Superman, joining a cast of superheroes that includes Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot, see "Warner Bros. Gives New Wonder Woman 3-Picture Deal") in a film that gives the appearance of becoming a de facto Justice League movie.  Fisher, who is also testing for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, is best known for his portrayal of Muhammed Ali in the play Fetch Clay, Make Man.

But Variety, which broke the story of Fisher getting the Cyborg role, also reports that Cyborg will not have very big role in Batman/Superman, but will have an expanded presence in a subsequent Justice League film.  It appears that DC/Warner Bros. is taking a page out of the Marvel Studios playbook and using its films to set up characters for sequels and other films.  So if Batman/Superman, which is slated to open on May 6, 2015, may not be a Justice League movie, but it will likely do quite a bit to set up the ultimate DC superhero team-up film.
