It appears that at least some of the truth about the injury suffered by 71-year-old actor Harrison Ford on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII on June 12th has finally come out. First reports indicated only that Ford suffered an “ankle injury” (see "Harrison Ford Injured"). Four days later a report in the UK newspaper The Mirror upgraded the injury to a “broken ankle” and said that the actor would be out of action for from six-to-eight weeks (see "Harrison Ford Out 6-8 Weeks").
Now the BBC reports that Ford’s publicist confirmed that Ford actually broke his left leg when a door from the prop Millennium Falcon fell on it. According to Ford’s spokesperson Ina Treciokas, the surgery to repair the actor’s leg was successful and "he will begin rehab shortly." No time line for Ford’s return to the filming of Star Episode: VII was given in this report.
Will Begin Rehabbing Soon
