Evil Hat Productions has announced three world and adventure supplements for use with its Fate Core role playing game system: Save Game, The Aether Sea, and Romance in the Air. The softcover books are all planned for late February or March release.
Save Game is a 56-page adventure set in the 8-bit video game world of Tendoria. The book includes a complete world, randomized character generation rules, ideas to govern digital adventures, and new Fate point hacks. MSRP is $10.00.
The Aether Sea is a 44-page world and adventure guide written by Ed Turner. Everyone has left the magically-blighted wasteland of Homeworld and taken to live on the vast, empty aether sea. Players are members of a renegade crew of a small aethercraft in the deep sea, taking jobs and using “unofficial” magic channels to get things done. The book contains new species creation rules, an easy-to-use magic system, ideas for aethercraft creation, and the full It’s Only an Elven Moon starter adventure. MSRP is $10.00.
Romance in the Air is a 56-page setting and adventure guide set in a romantic, historical steampunk world of airships and political intrigue. Penned by Bill White, the story is set in the skies over a Europe that never was, in which the affections of a young countess may change the fate of nations. The book contains multiple story seeds which can be adjusted for a group’s preference for air battle, politics or romance; ideas for aircrafts and air combat; and new skills and sample stunts. MSRP is $10.00.
As supplements, all books require a copy of the Fate Core or Fate Accelerated rules to play.
The Fate Core System gained popularity in early 2014 during the long wait for the new Dungeons & Dragons edition (see "Top 5 RPGs--Spring 2014").
Evil Hat released the new expanded Designers & Dragons set of books detailing the history of the role playing game industry to trade earlier this month (see "Expanded 'Designers & Dragons' Four-Volume Set").
