Netflix will drop 13 half-hour episodes of a new Mr. Peabody and Sherman animated series on October 9, according to Variety.  The new series, The New Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show from Dreamworks Animation, will be in 2D animation (unlike the recent film, see “First ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’ Trailer”), but will draw on narrative elements from the movie. 

The story will cast Mr. Peabody and Sherman as the hosts of a late night comedy show with guests from bygone eras and new adventures with the WABAC machine. 

Starring voice actors are Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock) as Mr. Peabody and Max Charles (American Sniper) as Sherman.
