The manga is an adaptation of anime series based on the video game franchise where students at the elite Hope’s Peak Academy must compete in a battle royal with other students if they ever hope to graduate. The ruthless robot teddy bear principal says the only way to complete their education is to murder a fellow student – and get away with it. This is difficult, since the student body convenes a tribunal after each murder where the surviving students interrogate each other. If the students figure out whom the murderer is, that person is executed. 

Funimation has been streaming the Dangaronpa anime in the U.S. and will release the series to home media in November.
