Dark Horse has announced it will release CLAMP’s Blood-C: Demonic Moonlight, the prequel to the Blood-C saga on May 11.

This prequel to the Blood-C saga is from the team of CLAMP, Production I.G, and artist Ryo Haduki. The black and white, 188-page Vol. 1 will have an MSRP of $12.99.

The story is set in occupied Japan in 1946, where an American military investigator is sent to investigate a number of strange deaths near Yokohama base.  Very soon he figures out the crimes are far from normal, and the murderer is hardly the mundane killer he expects.

CLAMP’s Blood-C anime/manga series is set in the same world as the Blood: The Last Vampire  and Blood+ saga, though with a different story and setting.  Dark Horse has sold over 70,000 copies of Blood+.
