Pee-wee Herman has a new movie, Pee-wee's Big Holiday, coming to Netflix this spring, according to Variety.

Paul Reubens reprises his starring role, and also serving as producer with Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Bridesmaids) and sharing writing credits with Paul Rust (Arrested Development. John Lee (Wonder Showzen) has been tagged to direct. During the recent Television Critics Association press tour, Apatow said working on the new movie was "a dream come true."

The Pee-wee Herman character was first created by Reubens during his time as a member of The Groundlings, an LA improv group. The character inspired first a stage show, then a popular Emmy-winning children's program, and two movies in the '80s. Pee-wee's Big Holiday will be the title character's first movie since 1988. Reubens and Apatow worked with Universal on the project before moving the movie to Netflix (see "Pee-Wee Goes to Netflix").

The movie's worldwide Netflix premiere is Friday, March 18.
