The Eisner and Harvey Award-winning comic Beasts of Burden created by Evan Dorkin, Jill Thompson, and Sarah Dyer, is returning in a one-shot comic, Beasts of Burden: What the Cat Dragged In, from Dark Horse that is due in comic stores on May 4, and which will be listed in the March issue of Diamond’s Previews.

Evan Dorkin (Milk and Cheese) and Jill Thompson (Scary Godmother) introduced the “Beasts of Burden Hill,” a group of cats and dogs who somehow manage to safeguard their human owners from all sorts of weird supernatural events in the star-crossed community of Burden Hill, in short stories that were collected in various Dark Horse anthologies, and which earned Dorkin and Thompson the coveted Eisner Awards for “Best Short Story” and “Best Painter” (see “2010 Eisner Award Winners”).

Beasts of Burden was optioned for the big screen in 2011 (see “Evan Dorkin’s and Jill Thompson’s Beasts of Burden”).
