Dynamite Entertainment has announced the hiring of former DC Entertainment Group Editor Matt Idelson as Senior Editor.  Idelsen started at Marvel in 1993 and has been at DC since 1999.  At DC, Idelson  oversaw the Batman and Superman lines as Group Editor, was deeply involved in the New 52.

Idelson will be paired with fellow Senior Editor Joseph Rybandt, who welcomed Idelson to the company.  “Matt's track record is backed up with his years of experience, making for a formidable addition to Dynamite," Rybandt said.  "As we relaunch titles and add new properties and creators to the mix, I look forward to working with him and his creative vision."

Hiring Idelson, the second DC alumnus hired since the company left for Burbank (Patrick O’Connell, who joined Dynamite as Sales Manager, was the first, see “Dynamite Hires Patrick O’Connell”), is only the latest in a series of move that is remaking Dynamite.  Perhaps most dramatic was the pruning of the company’s line over 2015, down to fewer, more high profile titles.  Dynamite also opened a Manhattan office (see “And Then There Were Three (Again)”), and hired industry veteran Alan Payne as Vice President – Sales and Marketing (see “Dynamite Hires Alan Payne”).
