Two more comic publishers have thrown their hats into the election-themed ring with new titles appealing to political humor, or in the case of Image’s title, those who despise it.

American Mythology Productions will release a political-themed The Three Stooges comic on August 17 with The Three Stooges - Red White & Stooge, written by S.A. Check (Pink Panther, The Three Stooges), with art by Brendon and Brian Fraim (Vampire, PA).  The publisher is running a promotional campaign to pick the Stooge who will be president.

“We’ve been looking forward and planning this issue ever since we started publishing the new Three Stooges comics last spring. It’s a perfect setting to showcase The Boys and their unique brand of madness,” said Michael Bornstein, American Mythology’s publisher. “We decided to kick it up another notch by bringing the fans into the action by allowing them to decide the end of the story. They literally get to choose their favorite character and put them in the White House by either buying a cover with their choice of Stooge or participating on social media to cast their vote.”

The story will fine The Boys as they are unwittingly thrown into the political spotlight during a televised parade. The media darlings are unwittingly manipulated by a presidential hopeful looking to cash in on their sudden fame. Things only get crazier when the Stooges appear on a morning talk show and things go awry.

Image will be releasing Sam Humphries (Star Lord, Weirdworld) and Tommy Patterson’s (Game of Thrones, Farscape) Faustian political farce Citizen Jack in trade paperback  on August 3.  MSRP is $14.99.

The horror comedy follows would-be presidential candidate Jack Northworthy, a scandal-plagued, small-town politician. But no one knows his real dark secret – he worships the devil. Now with the help of a demon named Marlinspike, he plans to run for the highest political office in America.

Political-based titles are popping up this season like grass-roots rallies (see “Character Candidacies Seek Geek Support” and “Two Titles From Tom Tomorrow”).
