ReedPOP will host a BookCon event at an offsite location for all four days of New York Comic Con, the company announced. Only NYCC badge-holders will be able to attend BookCon; no stand-alone passes will be sold.
BookCon @ NYCC will be located at Hudson Mercantile, a block from the Javits Center. It will consist of panels, autographing sessions, and meet and greets, along with a Gallery installation for Millennials of New York, a book in the form of a photo essay that parodies the plights of millennials.
Authors booked for the inaugural event include Ann M. Martin (The Baby-Sitter’s Club), Danielle Paige (Dorothy Must Die), Chuck Wendig (Star Wars novels), Naomi Movik (Temeraire series), and R.L. Stine (Goosebumps).
BookCon launched as a consumer event in association with BookExpo America in 2014 (see "ReedPOP Tries Book Fandom"), and will continue to be paired with the trade show next year. This is the first extension of BookCon to an association with a different Reed show.
