Pelgrane Press will release the new investigative time travel RPG TimeWatch on October 6.
The game is designed by Kevin W. Kulp, and it utilizes Robin D. Laws’ Gumshoe system rules (Trail of Cthulhu, Night’s Black Agents). Players are agents of TimeWatch, an organization which defends the timestream from radioactive cockroaches, psychic velociraptors and human meddlers. Players can engage in time chases in every era, thwart foes by targeting their ancestors, or search for vital clues in the Library of Alexandria. However, agents must avoid paradoxes that could erase them from the timeline. The book also contains 14 settings where players can face Mythos horrors and slide between alternate universes. There are more than 12 ready-to-play time seeds, pregenerated characters, and three full adventures. The 394-page, full-color rulebook has an MSRP of $49.95.
Releasing with the core rulebook will be Behind Enemy Times, an adventure supplement for TimeWatch. The series of six missions are written by Kevin W. Kulp, Matthew Breen, Michael Rees, and Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan. The adventures can be run separately or as a linked campaign. The campaign puts the TimeWatch agents in direct conflict with the ezeru, a group of giant psychic insects that arose out of a human extinction event in an eradiated timeline. The ezeru are trying to bring back their timeline, but TimeWatch will be there to stop it. The 108-page B&W supplement has an MSRP of $19.95. The Book of Changing Years is a collection of time travellers’ tales. It is a history of the past and future, which contains clues and mysteries fro players as well as ideas for GMs. The 224-page book has an MSRP of $24.95.Timewatch was funded with a Kickstarter campaign that raised $105,881 from 1,980 backers ($53.48/backer average) on February 21, 2014.
