At the recently concluded Anime Weekend Atlanta Bandai Entertainment announced the acquisition of Kaze No Yojimbo, a 25-episode anime series, which is loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's 1961 masterpiece Yojimbo. Yojimbo (or 'the Bodyguard') was reportedly based on Dashiell Hammett's Red Harvest, so bringing the wild and bloody saga back to a contemporary setting is not necessarily a bad thing at all. Produced by Studio Pierrot in 2001, Kaze no Yojimbo features character designs by Ito Takeshi. If it is anything like the original Yojimbo (or Red Harvest) this action/adventure/mystery will feature a major body count.
