Passport Game Studios will release two card games new to North America in Q1: LudiCreations’ They Who Were 8  and Giochi Uniti’s Kingsport Festival – The Card Game.

Designed by Todd Sanders (Aether Captains), the card drafting/ hand management game can be played two ways – as a “Titanomachy” where 2 – 4 players attempt to achieve individual victory, or as a “Patheon” where four participants play in teams of two cooperatively. Each player serves two Gods, each of which is shared with a neighboring player, whom they seek to praise for their Glory, while avoiding stories of their Infamy. The game is told as a saga, recounting the ancient story of the Gods. Players may call upon the powers of their Gods to control the narrative and establish their version of the saga as the one passed down through history.

The box contains 9 God tiles, 16 action tiles, 15 Glory tokens, 15 Infamy tokens, and a player/scoring aid. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 20 minutes. MSRP is $25.00. Release is planned for early February.

H. P. Lovecraft’s Kingsport Festival – The Card Game is designed by Gianluca Santopietro (Letters from Whitechapel) based on the Kingsport Festival game released in 2014 (see “'Kingsport Festival' and 'Provincia Romana'”). Players take the roles of high priests hoping to summon their otherworldly gods to Arkham. These gods will bestow unholy gifts to their chosen disciples, but they come at the cost of the players’ sanity.  There are also do-gooder investigators trying to stop the players’ fiendish plans, and they must be thwarted.

The game is for 3 – 5 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $25.00. Release is planned for February.
