Art not final
In the last week, Mantic Games has made numerous announcements for its miniature game lines including Kings of War, Warpath, Deadzone, Dreadball, and Star Saga.

The fantasy miniatures game Kings of War will introduce a new global campaign in Summer 2017. In preparation, Mantic will release the Kings of War Tournament Book, a 48-page softcover volume with tips and tricks for organizing successful tournaments, in February. The Trident Realms of Neritica army will debut in February.  Mantic will also release a new version of the Kings of War Sourcebook towards the end of the year.

GCPS Faction
Deadzone 2nd Edition released in May (see “New Edition for 'Deadzone' Skirmish Game”), and in July 2017, Mantic will add new GCPS units to the game (Warpath will also have a GCPS Faction). The GCPS Faction Starter and GCPS Faction Booster will each retail for $39.99.

Mantic also teased plans for a Nameless Faction starter set for Deadzone but details will not be available until after Star Saga releases.

Star Saga is a tactical, story-driven sci-fi dungeon crawl board game set in the Warpath universe, which will release in late 2017 (see “Mantic's 'Star Saga' Blasts Off Next Year”). The project raised $410,198 from 3,000 backers in October 2016.

Warpath, the mass-combat sci-fi battle game set in the shared universe of DreadBall, Deadzone, and Star Saga, will release to trade in April (see “'Warpath' Mass-Combat Sci-Fi Miniatures Game”). The game raised $484,917 on Kickstarter in October 2015. The first release will be Enforcers vs. ForgeFathers, with other armies to follow.

There are two ways to play the game.  Warpath is a massive sci-fi battle game with units abstracted into teams for streamlined play and apocalyptic level battles; Warpath: Firefight is an in-depth version of the game, where units are comprised of individual models, so players can focus on the finer details of battle rather than the overall conflict.

DreadBall 2, which was announced in 2016 (see “'DreadBall 2' in 2017”), will also arrive in 2017. The new edition rebalances the teams and introduces a new league system to tie games together.  Mantic is currently playtesting the updated rules.
