VIZ Media has announced the English-language launch of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga series, as well as the home video release of Boruto: Naruto the Movie.

VIZ announced Boruto: Naruto Next Generations at New York Comic Con (see “'Naruto' & 'Tokyo Ghoul' Sequels + More 'Vampire Knight'”), a sequel series to Masashi Kishimoto’s popular Naruto manga series which stars Naruto’s son Boruto as he attempts to distinguish himself amongst a new generation of shinobi ninja. The story is written by Ukyo Kodachi, with art by Mikio Ikemoto, and editorial supervision by Kishimoto. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Vol. 1 launches on April 4. MSRP is $9.99.

Many American Naruto fans will already know Boruto from the final chapter of the Naruto manga (see “'Naruto' Finale Debuts in October”) and Baruto: Naruto the Movie, which released in theaters in 2015 (see “'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' Gets U.S. Theatrical Release”). Now VIZ will release the action anime to North American audiences with an English dubbed audio track, as well as the original Japanese dialogue with English subtitle options. The movie will be released as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack ($29.98) as well as a Standard Edition DVD ($19.98) on March 28. The Japanese trailer can be viewed here: “'Boruto: Naruto The Movie' Trailer.”
