Marvel is taking Peter Parker back to basics this summer with a new ongoing series, Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Written by Chip Zdarsky (Howard the Duck, Sex Criminals) and drawn by Adam Kubert (X-Men, Avengers), the series is billed as a companion to Amazing Spider-Man. The series will use the same continuity, but takes Peter Parker from his Amazing role as tech millionaire and returns him to his home and friends in New York City.

The first issue is scheduled for June, but fans can get a taste on May 6 with a 10-page story from Zdarsky and artist Paulo Siqueira in Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day release (see “FCBD 2017 Gold Sponsor Comics Announced”).
