Geneon Entertainment (formerly Pioneer Entertainment, see 'Pioneer To Change Its Name') has announced that Heat Guy J will run on MTV beginning in December or January.  The specific air date has yet to be determined.  Heat Guy J is an anime cop drama with an android and a human as partners, set in a supposedly Utopian future with a dark side.

Heat Guy J: Super Android (Volume 1 DVD With Box) (see 'Pioneer Announces Heat Guy J'), is still available and contains a  second DVD with numerous extras that will not be shown on television.  These include staff interviews, a conceptual art gallery, TV commercials from Japan (with English subtitles), a live action music video of the show's theme song by Try Force (a Japanese group), and behind the action scenes of martial arts experts demonstrating fight sequences for the animators.

Also, Volumes 2 (released September 9th) and 3 (to be released November 4th) will feature exclusive artwork on the covers by artist Nobuteru Yuuki, who is well known for his work on Escaflowne, Battle Angel Alita, and Record of Lodoss Wars.  There is also a Heat Guy J Soundtrack currently available on CD.

Look for sales of Heat Guy J DVDs (especially Volume 1 with the Box) and the CD to jump significantly when the show airs on MTV in the next few months.
