Atlas Games will release the wagering game of court intrigue Cursed Court in October, and has invited retailers attending Origins Game Fair to participate in special learn-to-play sessions at the event.

The special retailers-only learn-to-play sessions will take place on Saturday, June 17 in the Retail Lounge at 3PM. Winners for each of the games (space limited) will receive a case of games at retail launch.

Designed by Andrew Hanson and illustrated by Lee Moyer, Cursed Court is social intrigue game where players are minor nobles who wager their limited influence across the courtly seasons in an attempt to improve their station in the court. The machinations of the nine key nobles in the court are slowly revealed, and their fortunes wax and wane. After three years, a winner is crowned.

The game includes a quad-fold game board, 120 influence ships, 36 poker-sized cards, 24 wagering crowns, 6 score markers, and a first wager marker. The game is for 2 – 6 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 30 – 60 minutes. MSRP is $49.95.

Atlas Games recently partnered with Gameplaywright to Kickstart a do-it-yourself game design kit called The White Box (see “Atlas Offers DIY Game Kit”). The campaign raised nearly $120,000 from almost 3,000 backers.
