The evil incarnations of Batman will appear in a series of seven one-shots. The terror kicks off on September 20 with Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico’s Batman: The Red Death #1, followed by Frank Tieri and Ricardo Federici’s Batman: The Murder Machine #1 on September 27, Dan Humphries and Ethan Van Sciver’s Batman: The Dawnbreaker #1 on October 4, Dan Abnett and Philip Tan’s Batman: The Drowned #1 on October 18, and Peter J. Tomasi and Francis Manapul’s Batman: The Merciless #1 on October 25.
The one-shots wrap up with Batman: The Devastator #1 on November 1 and The Batman Who Laughs #1 on November 15. The creative teams for the November releases were not revealed.
Each Batman one-shot features a special foil-stamped cover with art by Jason Fabok (Justice League: Darkseid War, Suicide Squad: The Black Vault, Batman Eternal).
Evil won’t stand unopposed. The “Gotham Resistance” will stand against the dark Dark Knights and Gotham’s greatest supervillains in a series of crossover stories kicking off with Teen Titans #12 from Benjamin Percy and Mirka Andolfo (September 13), Nightwing #29 from Time Seeley and Paul Pelletier (September 20), and Suicide Squad #26 from Rob Williams and Stjepan Sejic (September 27).
Dark Nights: Metal, from Batman superteam Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, kicks off on August 16 (see “'Dark Nights' for Batman”). Several characters featured in Dark Nights: Metal will also get their own titles under DC’s Dark Matter banner starting in August (see “DC 'Dark Knights' Introduces 'Dark Matter'”).
