Mantic Games is offering an exclusive Edge of the Abyss Support Pack for retailers who want to be part of the Kings of War: Edge of the Abyss summer event.

The pack includes two sprues of plastic models, the Battle of the Glades book, the Edge of the Abyss book, and information on the summer campaign and how a store can be involved.  The Support Pack is free to participating retailers who preorder the new releases.

The main release for the event is a new starter set, The Battle of the Glades.

The starter set is an entry-point boxed set that contains everything two players need to start playing the game.  With the materials in the box, players can wage battles between the infernal forces of the Abyss and the Druids of the Green Lady, including army lists and a three-scenario campaign.  The set includes 80 plastic miniatures, two metal miniatures, all with square bases, the 20-page Battle of the Glades quick-start guide, and the 48-page Kings of War Gamer’s Edition rulebook.  MSRP for the set is $79.99. The new starter, along with a variety of other Kings of War items, will release on July 24.

The Gamer’s Edition rulebook is also available separately, with an MSRP of $19.99.  The softcover book includes the game rules, magic spells and artifacts, and 11 army lists without the background “fluff” material.

Also available separately is a deck of magic spell and artifact cards, which include game stats for all magic effects from the Kings of War rulebook and Clash of Kings supplement, MSRP $12.99, and a new mounted hero model, the Vampire on Undead Pegasus, which is MSRP $29.99.

Players who want to take part in the global Edge of the Abyss event can pick up a copy of the Edge of the Abyss Summer Campaign Book, which includes rules and background for 14 Living Legends, new formations for units in the game, and new scenarios.  Players who report their battles to Mantic can influence future changes in the game setting.  MSRP is $19.99.
