Two of Steve Jackson Games’ most popular lines will have new titles this November when the company releases the Ogre Miniatures Set 1 and the former Amazon exclusive Munchkin Wonderland.
Announced last year as part of the celebration of Ogre’s 40th Anniversary (see “‘Ogre’ Gets Plastic at Last”), the Ogre Miniatures Set 1 will hit store shelves in November. The set includes more than 40 unpainted plastic miniatures representing the various tanks and units from Jackson’s science fiction combat game. The models in the set are enough to play the basic Ogre scenario, and are designed to work with both Ogre Sixth Edition (see “Steve Jackson’s ‘Ogre’ Returns”) and the Ogre Designer’s Edition (see “‘Ogre Designer’s Edition’ Sets Kickstarter Record”).
The set comes with two Ogres molded in red plastic and a variety of tanks and infantry in blue. Models are supplied unpainted, and some assembly is required. This expansion requires a copy of Ogre to play. MSRP is $39.95.
Originally released as an exclusive for Amazon, Munchkin Wonderland will be released into the trade in November. In Munchkin Wonderland, players explore the world of Lewis Carroll’s famous novels. As they move around the game board they encounter creatures from the books, recruit allies, and gather treasures. In the end, the player with the most valuable treasures wins.
Munchkin Wonderland is designed to be more family-friendly than the original Munchkin, with simplified rules and victory conditions that are designed to end the game in about an hour. The game is intended for 2 to 6 players, ages 6 and up. MSRP is $29.95.
