DC also announced the release dates for a series of comic one-shots that will focus on each of the evil Batman starting with Batman: The Red Death #1 (September 20) by Joshua Williamson, with art by Carmine Di Giandomenico, Batman: The Murder Machine #1 (September 27) by Frank Tieri with art by Ricardo Frederici, Batman: The Dawnbreaker (October 4) by Sam Humphries with art by Ethan Van Sciver, Batman: The Drowned (October 18) by Dan Abnett with art by Phillip Tan, Batman: The Merciless (October 25) by Peter J. Tomasi with art by Francis Manapul, and Batman: The Devastator (Nov.15).
DC has offered retailers promotional pins in support of the Dark Days/Nights: Metal and the Evil Batmen one-shots. Retailers can received a limited number of pins based on their orders for Dark Days: Metal #2, and they can order additional bags of 25 pins for a net cost of $5.00 per bag. San Diego Comic-Con News: This morning at the SDCC DC Comics, which had teased fans with ominous shadow versions of the six Evil Batmen from the Dark Multiverse (see “Evil Batmen Invade Dark Knights: Metal”), has revealed what these malevolent characters, these corrupted versions of the Dark Knight, who have been set upon the DC Universe in the Dark Nights: Metal event that debuts in August, really look like. DC is arranging midnight release day parties for the debut of the Dark Nights: Metal event (see “Dark Nights: Metal #1 Midnight Release Parties”) on August 16.
