Petersen Games will release Planet Apocalypse, a strategic co-op game for two to five players, to the trade late this year at an expected retail price of $99.95, a bargain for a Petersen Games product, known for their $199.99 Cthulhu Wars. The game, designed by Sandy Petersen, raised over $514,000 from around 2500 backers on Kickstarter earlier this year. The art and style of the game are by Keith Thompson.
The object of the game, which takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, is for the players to kill the demon lord, but "you’ve got to kill a lot of demons along the way, a lot," Petersen Games spokesperson Andrew Lucio told ICv2 at GAMA Trade Show. Each player has their own strengths and weaknesses, and demons also have attributes. Players use courage and luck to advance their interests.
Box contents include 27-30 miniatures at 28mm scale.
