Alderac Entertainment Group is giving its upcoming John D. Clair release Space Base (see "Alderac's Major Q2 Releases") a major launch, supporting it in ways similar to the way it supported Mystic Vale, its first Clair game. Supported by returnability (see "AEG: A Year of Promotional Opportunities"), Mystic Vale ended up being the company’s biggest launch ever, with more copies sold in the first 60 days than any other Alderac release. Now Alderac is trying to catch lightning in a bottle for the second time.
The retailer program involves a minimum purchase of 11 copies of the $39.99 game, which entitles the store to a free demo copy (12 copies is two cases of the game) and returnability for the next 60 days. Marketing will include demo support, advertising, public relations, social media, and Alderac house organs.
Space Base will be released April 25.
