Top Shelf Productions will journey to 1920s Hong Kong in His Dream of the Skyland, the first volume of The Walled City Trilogy. Written by Emmy winner Anne Opotowsky and drawn by Aya Morton, the lavishly-colored 312-page softcover with French flaps will be in stores on August 15. It has an MSRP of $29.99.

The Opium Wars have transformed the Hong Kong of 1925 into a bustling international crossroads torn between Chinese and British cultures. Three teens are drawn to the city’s secrets and dark corners, including the Walled City of Kowloon. Through these characters, His Dream of Skyland explores youth, ambition, loyalty, and the literal and metaphorical walls we build.

The release is one of several Top Shelf has planned for the summer, including new work from Nate Powell (March) and James Kochalka (Johnny Boo), a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection, the last volume of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and more (see “Top Shelf's Summer 2018 Releases”). The publisher is also releasing a new edition of Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie’s Lost Girls (see “Expanded Edition for Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie's 'Lost Girls'”).
