The annual award is given to retailers who support comics both in the industry and in their respective communities. Will Eisner instituted the award as a way to recognize the contributions of comics retailers and to acknowledge their important role in the industry. Fans nominate their favorite stores via the Comic-Con International website. This year’s nominees span the globe, including stores in the U.S., Ireland, Spain, Australia, and the U.K.
