Jack Kirby’s Great Disaster sets the stage for a six-issue miniseries from writer Steve Orlando (Wonder Woman, Justice League of America) and artist Travel Foreman (Birds of Prey, Justice League United). The first issue of Electric Warriors is due in November.

Set in 2735, Electric Warriors finds Earth emerging from the Great Disaster and rejoining a galaxy on the brink of war. The fragile peace is kept via Electric Warriors, teams of diplomatic gladiators that represent their worlds in bloody conflict. But the game is rigged, and the Electric Warriors have learned that those they serve are behind it.

The Great Disaster is the apocalyptic event that lead to the savage world navigated by Jack Kirby’s Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth, which ran from 1972 to 1978. DC recently released a hardcover omnibus collection of the series, which garnered solid sales at a $125 MSRP (see “Top 300 Graphic Novels--March 2018”).
