James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel has dropped its first full-length trailer.
Alita: Battle Angel is adapted from the classic manga series Battle Angle Alita (Gunnm in Japanese) from creator Yukito Kishiro. The dystopian tale of an amnesiac cyborg warrior is directed by Rodriguez (Sin City) and written by Cameron (Avatar), Laeta Kalogridis, and Rodriguez. Cameron and Jon Landau produce the film. It stars Rosa Salazar as Alita and Christoph Waltz as Ido, as well as Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson (see "First 'Alita: Battle Angel' Trailer"). Alita: Battle Angel debuts on December 21, 2018 (see "Best in Shows: Q4 2018").
Kodansha Comics recently began releasing a deluxe hardcover edition of Battle Angel Alita and Battle Angel Alita: Mars Chronicle (see "Anime Expo Roundup: 'Silver Spoon,' More 'Battle Angel Alita,' Deluxe 'Fullmetal Alchemist' and 'Sailor Moon' Editions").
