Set in feudal Japan, players take the roles of noble allies of the daimyo. Much like Werewolf and Mafia, this game of hidden identities has players competing to fulfill their own goals. The ronin Fusanobu and geisha Chiyo have committed inexcusable crimes, and the daimyo is arriving soon to see them face justice. But the pair has disappeared into the marketplace, and only their son, Motonaka, knows where they are hiding.
Players are either Loyal Allies of the daimyo seeking to catch the pair; Usurpers, trying to lure the pair and the daimyo into a trap to seize power; Betrayers, who want to go over the daimyos head and present the pair to the Shogun themselves; or Motonaka, who wishes to hide his parents until the Shogun arrives. Players as questions of business patrons and Motonako to try to locate the pair, but Motonako may lie one time per game. The game continues until a player has met all the conditions of their identity to win the game.
The box includes a Shogun board, 8 establishment boards, 90+ cards, tokens, and rules. The game is for 5 – 8 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 – 60 minutes. MSRP is $24.99.
