A new creative team is moving in with Buffy the Vampire Slayer at its new home with BOOM! Studios. BOOM! announced that the monthly series will be written by Jordie Bellaire (Redlands) and drawn by Russ Manning Award-winning artist Dan Mora (Klaus, Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers). Buffy creator Joss Whedon will consult on the series, the first issue of which hits stands on January 9. The issue sports a cover by Mondo illustrator Matthew Taylor, along with variant covers by Kevin Wada (She-Hulk), Royal Dunlap (Spitball), Becca Carey (Bitch Planet), and Jen Bartel (Blackbird).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer updates the classic genre property for the modern day. Buffy’s friends and foes will be on hand, as will new big bads, as Buffy tries to make friends at her new school, tries to get decent grades, and tackles her imposed destiny as the latest in a long line of vampire slayers.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer recently moved to BOOM! Studios, after the expiration of the license with Dark Horse and Twentieth Century Fox Film’s strategic investment in BOOM! (see “'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Finds New Publishing Home”).
