In collaboration with IDW Publishing, Dynamite Entertainment will launch crossover comic series Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep in February, the companies announced today. The story will be written by Scott Duvall with art by Vincenzo Federici and covers by Robert Hack, Carlos Gomez, Emma Kubert, Diego Galindo, and Tom Mandrake.
The storyline will follow Ash as he travels to Texas on a hunch that Elvis may still be alive, encountering an Elvis jumpsuit with time-travel abilities, an evil new Book of the Dead, the Necronomicon Ho-Tep. There’s also a trip to 70s-era Vegas.
"I knew the Ash and Elvis team-up would go together like peanut butter and banana," writer Scott Duvall said in a statement. "These two worlds already fit so well together in tone, it made it totally plausible that they could co-exist on the same plane."
Dynamite has had an Army of Darkness license since 2004, and IDW began publishing its Bubba Ho-Tep comic earlier this year.
