Queen Games will release several games in the U.S. in December: Bastille, Expedition Luxor, Franchise, Skylands, Kingdom Builder Family Box, and Merlin: Arthur Expansion.

Expedition Luxor is a reimagining of Rudiger Dorn’s Robber Knights, that fits well within the universe of the recent release Luxor (see “Egyptian Treasures and Thieving Kobolds Coming From Queen Games”). Players compete to discover and claim temples and pyramids, the trick being that the adventurer that is placed last will be the claimant, and earn the points at the end of the game. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $29.99.

Kingdom Builder Family Box is a new packaging of Donald X. Vaccarino’s  2012 Spiel des Jahres winner, including the base game ,the Nomads Expansion, and two “Queenies” – Capitol and Caves. Each game players use a random set of cards, special actions and terrain sectors to build a map. The goal is to earn the most gold at the end of the game by meeting the conditions of the three Kingdom Builder cards. The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $64.99.

Stefan Feld and Michael Rieneck’s strategy game Merlin is getting a second printing which will arrive in December, as well as a new expansion, Arthur. Merlin is a search to find a worthy heir for King Arthur from among the Knights of the Round Table. Arthur adds the King himself as a new figure that can be moved and strategically positioned through various actions. There is also a troop of Pict soldiers menacing the land, which means players will have to fend of an invasion. Thankfully, they also receive one more action each round.  The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 75 minutes. As an expansion it requires the base game to play. MSRP is $29.99.

Bastille ($59.99), Skylands ($59.99), and Franchise ($59.99), were all announced this summer (see “Queen Plans Three Essen Releases”).
