DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio quashed rumors surrounding its DC Giants publishing program with Walmart with a statement on Facebook saying the program is “(s)uccessful and continuing.”

DC launched the massive comics program with the retailer last summer (see “Walmart to Carry Exclusive DC Comics in 3,000 Stores”) and then expanded it this month (see “DC Expands Walmart Program.”)

“For those fans of the DC Giants at Walmart, have to clear up some misinformation making the rounds,” DiDio’s post said. “Just want to let you know these books are doing well, so well that we are looking to expand the number of original pages in each book and include distribution to the direct market. Look for these and new titles later this year. The promise is to keep it one of the best values and reading experiences in the market.”

DC recently announced it was adding a 4” blind box Batman: Black and White mini figure line from DC Collectibles to offerings at the mass merchandizer (see “DC Adds DC Collectibles to Walmart Program”).

The publisher also recently established a presence in Target through a limited partnership with Funko (see “DC Gets '100-Page Giant' in Target.”)
