One Key from Libellud, makers of Dixit and Mysterium , is a cooperative game. One player is the team leader, who is trying to communicate with the other players how close they are to guessing the keyword by indicating if they are hot or cold with their affinity to it on the board. The goal is to remove the wrong word cards until only the keyword remains. The Game is for 2 – 6 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 20 minutes. MSRP is $34.99. Release is planned for Q3.
From Plaid Hat Games, Quirky Circuits will release in Q3. Designed by Nikki Valens, this title is part of Plaid Hat’s AdventureBook Games series (see “Plaid Hat Launches AdventureBook Game Line”). Players work together to program a robot, each inputting a command, but on one knows what command the other players contributed. The goal is to get the robot to complete its task before its battery is drained. The game includes 21 scenarios for high replayability. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 5 and up, and plays in 15 – 30 minutes. MSRP is $39.95. Patchwork Doodle is a new roll-and-write version of Lookout Games’ Patchwork quilting game (see “'Murano' and 'Patchwork'”). Each player has their own 9 X 9 grid to fill over the course of the game with unique polyomino cards from the starting deck. The player who scores the most points at the end wins. The game is for 1+ players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 20+ minutes. MSRP is $19.99. Release date was not announced. From HeidelBAR comes the word-building game Wordsmith. Players use a map to move pieces of letters in four different shapes around the board to construct a word. The goal is to make the word worth the most points.
