At New York Toy Fair, Asmodee NA was showing off upcoming games from worldwide studios for which it has North American distribution rights. The first part of the preview can be seen here: “'One Key,' 'Quirky Circuits,' 'Patchwork Doodle,' 'Wordsmith'.”

Asmodee has signed a distribution deal with French publisher Djeco, which makes card and board games geared toward a younger audience, which teach kids the basic elements of strategy and gameplay used in more advanced games. The company is known for high quality wooden components, and Asmodee will release their 20 top selling card and board games, including Cubissimo, Battle Wolf, Chop! Chop! and Pirate Attack, in April.

From Sand Castle Games comes the resource management game Res Arcana. Designed by Tom Lehman (Race for the Galaxy, Roll for the Galaxy, Favor of the Pharaoh), players take control of magic users (Alchemist, Druid, Necromancer, ect) gather essences to craft artifacts, use them to summon dragons, and conquer places of power. Vivid illustration is provided by Julien Delval (The Castles of Burgundy, Dominion, Ticket to Ride.)MSRP is $39.95.

Hub Games’ Megacity-Oceania is designed by Jordan Draper (Import/ Export, Tokyo Metro) and Michael Fox. Players construct a city over the top of the ocean while fulfilling requirements made by urban planners. While the city is built cooperatively, each player scores points on their own. Release is planned for Gen Con.

From Mixlore comes Ramen Fury is a card game where player score points by eating bowls of ramen containing combinations of ingredients and flavors. Every player gets two soup tokens, so if another player plays something the first player wants, they can use their soup token to scoop it out of their bowl into their own. MSRP is $9.99.
