Created by Daryl Andrews (co-creator of Sagrada and Roar: King of the Pride) and Erica Bouyouris (co-creator of Roar: King of the Pride), Bosk explores the changing foliage of a national park through four seasons. In the spring, players place their trees on the board, hoping to score points when hikers travel through in the summer. In the autumn, they compete with their falling leaves to cover as much ground as they can, scoring points in the winter through an area control style mechanic.
Bosk, which is named for a small wooded area such as one might find in a park, will feature artwork by Kwanchai Moriya (Cryptid, Catacombs) and includes 1 game board, 32 tree standees, 144 wooden leaf tokens, 32 leaf tiles, 4 wooden squirrel tokens, 1 wind board, 1 wind direction marker, 1 hiker, and a score track. The game is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in a little over half an hour. MSRP is $44.95.Floodgate Games is offering retailers a Bosk – Launch Kit that includes five copies of the game plus a free demo copy. MSRP for the Launch Kit is $225.00.
The last year has seen a surge in games inspired by the national parks, with Bosk joining Keymaster Games’ Parks: The Board Game (see “Explore the U.S. National Parks in ‘Parks: The Board Game’”) and the second edition of Trekking the National Parks.
