The comics publisher IDW Publishing’s latest collaboration with the toy company Hasbro is Clue: Candlestick, a three-issue miniseries based on the popular mystery-puzzle board game that will launch in May.

Comics creator and animator Dash Shaw will write, draw, color, and letter the new series.  The comics are planned to be longer than usual and will feature new Clue game cards based on the story.  Shaw will draw a set of regular covers for the comics and a triptych of variants that will form a single image of the game’s suspects and their weapons.  Artist Jed McGowan (Time in Nature) will also draw an incentive variant.

Shaw’s webcomic Bodyworld was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2009, and Pantheon published a print version the following year. His other work includes the graphic novels Doctors, New School, Bottomless Belly Button, Cosplayers, and The Unclothed Man in the 35th Century A.D., all published by Fantagraphics, as well as the 2016 animated film My Entire High School Sinking into the Sea.

IDW’s first Clue comic was a five-issue series written by Paul Allor and drawn by Nelson Daniel (see "Follow the ‘Clue’ in New Comic Series") that debuted in June 2017.
