Products from an expanded range of licensed products based on Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man graphic novels will hit the market in mid-August, timed to coincide with the release of Dog Man: For Whom the Ball Rolls, the seventh volume in the series. MerryMakers, which is handling licensing for the property, will make specialty plush, with University Games signed for board games and puzzles; Jakks Pacific for mass market plush, figurines, and activity sets; Disguise for costumes; Brown Trout for calendars, and Raymond Geddes for school supplies.
The sixth volume had a five million copy print run (see "Next ‘Dog Man’ Volume Gets Record Graphic Novel Print Run"), a number that seems unlikely to go down for the seventh volume.
MerryMakers is also seeking to expand the number of Dog Man licensees and categories going forward.
