IDW Publishing has announced the September release of the first issue of Pandemica, a new comic book epic written by 5-time Bram Stoker winner Jonathan Maberry, whose vampire apocalypse series V-Wars has been adapted by Netflix in new streaming TV series that will debut later this year.

Pandemica is a near-future thriller that, according to Maberry, “reflects a lot of fears about the direction in which our country and the world is going.  It deals with a diverse group of people who discover that a secret organization is selling designer pathogens for use in ethnic cleansing. My story is about the kinds of people who take a stand against this, who find the courage to fight back, who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the innocent.”

The new series represents yet another collaboration between IDW and Maberry.  IDW has already adapted Maberry’s V-Wars (see “V-Wars Comics”) and also produced a V-Wars board game (see “V-Wars Board Game,” and “Balance Politics and War in Rob Daviau’s V-Wars”).
