NBM has announced new titles in its Spring 2020 lineup:

Phoolan Devi, Rebel Queen, by Claire Fauvel, is a real-life Robin Hood story.  Phoolan Devi grew up a member of a low caste family in an extraordinarily poor area of India, was forced into marriage at the age of 11, and spent many years as a bandit.  After her lover was killed and she was gang raped, she led a massacre that killed 22 men.  Incredibly, after spending 11 years in prison, she was elected to the Indian Parliament and became a folk hero in India.  She was assassinated in 2001.  The 220-page hardcover biography is scheduled for a March 2020 release with an MSRP of $29.99.

Giant, by Mikael, is the story of a strapping Irish steelworker who is working on Rockefeller Center when one of his coworkers is killed in an accident.  Giant writes to his coworker's wife back in Ireland and sends her money, but is unable to tell her that her husband is dead.  It will be a 120-page, full-color hardcover with an MSRP of $24.99 and an April release date.

Silent Invasion, Vol. 3: Abductions, by Michael Cherkas and Larry Hancock, is a new episode in the story about alien abductions during the McCarthy area, drawn in a stunning, retro-ish black and white style.  Cherkas and Hancock started this series in the 1980s, and the first two volumes were reprinted several times, but this third volume has never been collected before.  The 160-page paperback is scheduled for May with an MSRP of $16.99.

The Louvre Collection: The Red Mother with Child, by Christian Lax, the latest in a series of collaborations between the museum and graphic novel creators, goes outside the walls of the Louvre and all the way to Mali.  There, a young man saves a precious 14th-century sculpture from destruction by Islamists, then makes the perilous journey to Europe, together with a group of immigrants and refugees, to deliver it to the museum.  The 144-page full-color hardcover will be out in June with an MSRP of $27.99.

Leonardo Da Vinci: The Renaissance of the World, by Marwan Kahil and Ariel Vittori, looks at the famous artist and inventor in the context of his times, including contemporary politics as well as his experiences as a gay man.  The back matter includes a timeline and other information.  The 144-page, full-color hardcover will be published in July with a MSRP of $24.99.

The Rock & Roll Set! collects NBM’s previously published comics biographies of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Marley in a banded set that will be released in August with an MSRP of $74.99, a savings of $10.01 compared to buying the three volumes individually.
