Video Vortex is a competitive deck-building game set in a radioactive future-verse that is overrun by video-obsessed mutants. Each character in the game worships a specific genre of video and must use their mutant powers to battle opponents and seize control of this futuristic wasteland. It is a turn-based game where players spend energy to play special cards, power-up their decks with rentals from the local video store, and eject chosen cards from play to weaken their enemie. The measure of mutant health is called "Runtime", and players can advance an opponent's Runtime with Lo-Fi and Hi-Fi attachs. The game ends when three distinctive trophies are collected.
The game box includes a Vortex board, 210 cards, 4 player boards, 4 Runtime dials, 8 Suns, 12 Mutant Character Sheets, 4 player aids, 24 Energy Cubes, 16 Charges, 1 first player token, and 12 Be Kind Tokens. Video Vortex is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, plays in 60 minutes, and will retail for $40.00.
Mondo Games and Restoration Games also announced Jurassic Park sets for Unmatched (see "'Unmatched' Takes A Trip To 'Jurassic Park'").
