Titan Comics and Alcon Media Group will launch Blade Runner Origins on February 24.
Set ten years before Blade Runner 2019 (see "Review: ‘Blade Runner 2019 Vol. 1: Welcome to Los Angeles’ TP"), Origins follows LAPD Detective Cal Moreaux as he is investigating the apparent suicide of a senior bioengineer for the Tyrell Corp. Found hanging in her sealed laboratory, the bioengineer’s suicide doesn’t sit right with the detective. Dr. Tryell’s Replicant empire hides a dark conspiracy, one that Moreaux’s investigation is leading him towards.
Blade Runner Origins is written by Mike Johnson (co-writer of Blade Runner 2019), with K. Perkins (Batwoman, Wonder Woman) and screenwriter Mellow Brown (American Gods, Calls). The debut issue will have variant covers featuring art by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau and Peach Momoko, and retro pulp-style covers by Robert Hack.
