Game and puzzle company Buffalo Games has acquired jigsaw puzzle company Ceaco and its contract manufacturer Edaron Inc., according to Buffalo Business First. The deal combines the #1 puzzle company in the U.S. (Buffalo) with #2 (Ceaco). Puzzles have blown up in the Covid period, as people seek at-home activities that can be done individually or as a family.
Buffalo Games, which also has a robust games business that includes an exclusive line of family games for Target (see "Channel Check: Target (Games)"), was already on a tear, with sales growing from $120 million in 2019 to $250 million this year according to the report.
Buffalo Games is headquartered in Buffalo, New York; Ceaco, which will be run as a standalone operation, is headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts.
